In November, I’m setting off on a journey through Thailand—one filled with city streets, island adventures, new skills, old friendships, and plenty of moments to pause and take it all in. This travel blog will follow the journey as it unfolds, with stories accompanied by photos, travel tips I learn along the way, and moments of enlightenment found between destinations.

Bangkok: First Impressions and Everyday Discoveries

I’ll begin by traveling around Bangkok, taking in its energy, neighborhoods, temples, markets, food, and the small details that make the city feel alive. I’m looking forward to exploring with curiosity and letting the rhythm of the city shape the first chapter of the trip.

Krabi: Adventure by Land and Sea

From Bangkok, the journey continues to Krabi for island landscapes, limestone cliffs, warm water, and adventures that bring me closer to Thailand’s natural beauty. I’ll share the places that surprise me, the experiences that challenge me, and the practical tips that make exploring easier.

Learning to Dive in the Andaman Sea

One of the biggest milestones of the trip will be getting scuba certified in the Andaman Sea. I’ll document the excitement and nerves of learning to dive, the underwater world I discover, and the lessons that come from slowing down, breathing steadily, and trusting the process.

Yi Peng in Chiang Mai

In Chiang Mai, I’ll visit a friend and celebrate the Yi Peng lantern festival. I’m especially excited for the glow of the lanterns, the shared traditions, and the chance to experience a meaningful celebration with an old coworker and friend.

The Train Ride Back to Bangkok

The final chapter of the route will be a train ride returning to Bangkok. I’m looking forward to watching the scenery change outside the window, reflecting on the people and places along the way, and letting the journey itself become part of the story.

Stories, Photos, Tips, and Perspective

This blog will grow with the trip. Alongside travel stories and photos, I’ll collect useful tips, unexpected lessons, and moments of enlightenment—the kind that appear when a familiar plan gives way to a new perspective. Thanks for joining me for the journey to Thailand.
